Ronald "Dink"'s Story

Life I have to redo my life biography! The last one was a little bit bias and harsh. I have no to reason to whine about much! Growing up in Independence had it's goods and bads. With more goods than bads. The people I grew up with, I hardly know anymore...but...when we were growing up together and the things we all went through are precious memories for me. We grew up when the music was fresh and times were simple. My fondest memories are of classmates and I walking around the town of Independence side by side. Up and down every street in the town. Sometimes being joined by others just wanting to walk with us. The courthouse lawn and the back of the courthouse memories are cherishable also. Every summer was an expierence, watching my friends bud into young adults, myself included. School was memoriable...there were classes and teachers I despised...but now I know that it was just a part of growing up and becoming a person. Never in my life will I ever again walk the streets of Independence with my schoolmates. But I know I can close my eyes and wander back to yesteryear and relive the fun and happiness that we lived back then. If you are reading this now and you were there, and can just get a glimpse of the way it was back then. Just close your eyes with me every now and then...and we'll take that journey back through time and remember! And every time you hear Grand Funk, Steppenwolf, Blood Sweat & Tears, even the friggin Archies! Dance with me and my friends again! You all helped me make it through the rough times I had. And I hope I contributed something to your lives in any way or form. Damn it was a fun time! The only thing that ruined the trip...was growing up, departing ways, and the incarnation of RAP!!!!! This adult stuff is quite an expierence too! Isn't it????? PEACE LOVE AND RIGHT ON School I landed at Owens Valley School when I was in 3rd grade. For the most part I claim the town of Independence and Owens Valley School my home of homes. I went to other schools...but...I never came away from those places the wa...Expand for more
y I've come from Owens Valley. Most of the students I met in third grade I graduated with. There was nothing like growing up in the Owens Valley. I remember leaving when I was going into the sixth grade and living in Compton. Eventually I came back to Owens Valley during the seventh grade. And that was the best thing that ever happened to me. Growing up with my classmates for the next six years would be an expierence. The worst part of going to school is having to leave. Especially when you don't know what you're going to do. The last day of school and that last bus ride to my house was...well...it was confusing. I really have very fond memories of the whole expierence from seventh grade to being a senior. At times when I got see a footbal/basketball game at O.V., I think, "I remember..." It's still there walking around and every once and a while you bump into it...the "memory"! The best part about the "memory" is that it brings a smile. If not on your face...it does in your heart! College Actually I attended CSUF for one semester! It was one of the worst expierences of my life. Mostly because I didn't use the resources at hand to actively get educated at the college level. I met great people there. I just used to party WAY to much!!!!! Workplace Basically I work for KIBS-FM/KBOV-AM radio in Bishop. I produce the daily birthday list and community calendar, read at various times on the air during the day. I schedule commercials and log for the KBOV-AM side of our station. My job is to record daily and weekly shows that run on both AM & FM sides...from 1 min. programs to half hour programs. I schedule and produce the Sunday Morning Show that runs on KBOV-AM which runs during the 8 a.m. hour every Sunday. I engineer local B.U.H.S. Bronco Football & Basketball games carried on KBOV-AM, and this year we've been runnig the Mammoth Huskies Football games on KIBS-FM, I engineer them too when possable. I love my job and the people I work with. And I really don't forsee doing anything else for my remaining working years!
